Each component used in the design of d. marlene jewelry is specifically selected for its color, quality and beauty. The lint-free anti-tarnish flannel pouch provided with your order is the perfect place to store your jewelry. Over time the natural oils from your skin, moisture, and air borne contaminants will tarnish the shine of your sterling silver jewelry. To clean sterling silver, you may use a polishing cloth or the following technique:

o Line the sides of a bowl or large cup with aluminum foil.
  o Place your jewelry inside.
o Sprinkle a small amount of baking soda over your jewelry, just enough to cover.
o Pour hot water over the jewelry and wait for the bubbling to stop.
o Rinse and pat the jewelry dry with a soft cloth.
o Do not use this technique on semi-precious gemstones or freshwater pearls!

Due to the porous nature of semi-precious gemstones and freshwater pearls, they should not be dipped or polished. It is best to gently clean with a soft cloth and store in your flannel pouch.
